Associations Oppose Final WOTUS Rule

The NAHB, National Apartment Association, and National Multifamily Housing Council officially expressed their disappointment with the EPA and Department of the Army's decision to expand the definition of "waters of the U.S." (WOTUS) under the Clean Water Act. NAHB called the expanded definition "a blow to affordability and regulatory certainty for builders and other stakeholders."

EU Agrees On Law To Fight Deforestation

A new law to combat deforestation has been agreed upon by the European Parliament and Council of the European Union. Once adopted and applied, the new law is designed to ensure that goods that enter the EU market will no longer contribute to deforestation and forest degradation in the EU and elsewhere in the world. However, the law would require unworkable geolocation that the American Hardwood Export Council and others have opposed.
