DHA Supports Legislation To Improve Trade Enforcement

Decorative Hardwoods Association published a letter commending Congress for moving forward with legislation to increase U.S. competitiveness and address China's abusive trade practices, and specifically requesting that the legislation include the Leveling the Playing Field Act 2.0. DHA President Keith Christman stated, "Our industry has been harmed by illegal trade practices and has successfully pursued trade cases for our products, but US law has not kept up with China’s ability to evade duties. Our industry production and employment across the country have been dramatically reduced by these illegal practices." He noted that the changes have bipartisan support and "are a much-needed 21st-century modernization of the law that addresses the new, and evolving, unfair trade practices of China and other trading partners."
