Thank you to the Kitchen Cabinet Manufacturers Association (KCMA) for standing up for U.S. manufacturers and their domestic suppliers by sending a compelling letter to the U.S. International Trade Commission. In the letter, KCMA's CEO directly refuted importers' false testimony that American-made hardwood plywood is not as well suited for use in cabinet box construction. DHA has also supported U.S. cabinet manufacturers in our trade advocacy over the last several years. KCMA's action is a clear example of the importance of domestic manufacturer cooperation as we try to counter the flood of dumped and subsidized products from China and its trading partners in Asia.

The Trump administration has followed through on its plan to reimpose tariffs on trading partners, announcing new Section 301 tariffs that apply to 30 countries for failing to impose and effectively enforce a ban on imports produced with forced labor. In addition, President Trump announced new duties on products from Canada, including hardwood plywood.

DHA sent members summaries of the new trade actions within hours of the announcements. These summaries contained detailed information on the actions' impacts on hardwood plywood, hardwood veneer, and engineered wood flooring.
